3 years

Today marks 3 years that my great-grandfather passed away. My uncle & aunt were on a cruise the day of his funeral, so before the funeral, we took pictures of all of us great-grandchildren so they could see what we looked like all dressed up! Here's a few from that morning (I apologize in advance, I had to rescan the photos, so they are not the best quality):

Shari's Berries

Shari's Berries: The unforgettable gift.

So, I ordered them for my mom for her birthday.
I laughed when I read the instructions on the box:

They were nicely packaged:

This picture doesn't do justice. They were INCREDIBLE!! They were perfectly dipped, and the strawberries inside were still cold! They come packaged in a box with styrofoam and even an ice pack to keep them cold! They were shipped UPS, and had sat out all day yesterday. By the time we opened them last night, they were still cold, and not a single one was broken! I was very impressed. The only down side was that the juice had started to leak through the chocolate, and when we opened the box, they had shifted a little due to UPS traveling. I would still highly recommend them to anyone for any occasion!

Visit them at www.berries.com.

One Day at a Time!

One Day at a Time

One day at a time with its failures and fears,
With its hurts and mistakes, with its weakness and tears,
With its portion of pain, and its burden of care,
One day at a time we must meet and must bear.

One day at a time to be patient and strong,
To be calm under trial and be sweet under wrong;
Then its toiling shall pass and its sorrow shall cease,
It shall darken and die, and the night shall bring peace.

One day at time - but the day is so long,
And the heart is not brave, and the soul is not strong!
O Thou pitiful Christ, be Thou near all the way;
Give courage and patience and strength for the day.

Swift cometh His answer, so clear and so sweet:
"Yes, I will be with thee, thy troubles to meet,
I will not forget thee, nor fail thee, nor grieve,
I will not forsake thee, I never will leave."

Not yesterday's load are we called on to bear,
Not tomorrow's unsure and shadowy care;
Why should we look forward or back with dismay?
Our needs, as our mercies, are but for the day.

One day at a time, and the day is His day;
He has numbered its hours though they haste or delay.
His grace is sufficient, we walk not alone;
As the day so the strength that He giveth His own!

2 years

Today marks 2 years since Grandma Virkler passed away.

It seems like it was just yesterday, yet it's been 2 years.

The summer before she died, our entire family got together in NY to celebrate her birthday. Everyone was their except for my cousin Matt's wife. We took a lot of pictures that weekend, and I think we all cherish them, even though there has been lots of changes since then!

Gram w/ her great-grandchildren:
When I look at this last picture (above), it makes me picture Gram sitting in Heaven holding little Madison Jill (Josh & Kate's baby who passed away shortly after she was born). Gram loved and adored her great-grandchildren, and I picture her sitting in Heaven, rocking Madison, and taking care of her.

We miss you Gram!

6 months!

So, I was talking to someone in church today, and they didn't know that I had moved out of my parents house and was living in my own apartment with my cousin. They asked how long it had been, and I said since August. I then realized that February 1st was the 6 month mark of living on my own! So this post is late, but it's better than never!

Ecclesiasticus 2:1-7

"My Son, if thou come to serve the Lord, prepare thy soul for temptation. Set thy heart aright, and constantly endure, and make not haste in time of trouble. Cleave unto him, and depart not away, that thou mayest be increased at thy last end. Whatsoever is brought upon thee, take cheerfully, and be patient when thou art changed to a low estate. For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of adversity. Believe in him, and he will help thee; order thy way aright, and trust in him. Ye that fear the Lord, wait for his mercy; and go not aside, lest ye fall."

Calculus Exam #1

Tonight I had my first calculus exam. Mom asked me afterwards how I felt I did, but I honestly don't know what to think. I've been studying for this exam for 6 days straight! Other than work, I basically did nothing else for the past 6 days, except go to church on Sunday! So, I feel like I did pretty good, but when I had this professor for statistics, I always felt the same way but there was always a twist on the exams that made me lose points. So I don't know what to think about this exam! I will find out on Wednesday how I did.
