Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp

On Saturday, I made this delicious dessert! It was so good I thought I'd do a post about it! You must try it!

Ingredients:
1 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons flour
3 cups sliced strawberries
3 cups diced rhubarb
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter, melted
1 cup oats

In a mixing bowl, mix white sugar, 3 tablespoons flour, rhubarb and strawberries. Put mixture in a greased 9 x 13 pan.

In another bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups flour, brown sugar, butter and oats until crumbly. You may want to use a pastry blender for this. Crumble this mixture on top of the strawberry rhubarb mixture in your pan.

All ready for the oven:

Bake at 350* for about 45 minutes or until lightly browned.

I served it warm with vanilla ice cream and it was perfect!

It was so delicious and very easy to make!
Enjoy!

Chocolate Chippers

I spent most of my afternoon yesterday making a mess in the kitchen! Our family is serving lunch in church on Sunday, so I offered to do most of the baking for mom. Started today and will go all week!

Someone thought it would be fun to eat all my dough!

Although she actually spent most of the time doing this instead. I'm glad I don't have to do that right now!

They came out pretty good. The first pan got a little darker than I wanted it to, but with no names mentioned a certain mother forgot to watch them for me! :) I guess they will be okay.

Like I said, I will be doing more during the rest of the week. If I remember to take pics of those days, I will share as well!

Spiced Pretzels

The other night I made spiced pretzels, one of my favorite snacks!

The first step is to make sure you have your laptop up and playing your favorite Christmas music from iTunes:

Then, you must assemble all of your ingredients along with the recipe:

First, mix the 1/3 c. sugar & 1-2 tsp. of cinnamon:

Then add the 2/3 c. oil:

Next, place your bag (15-18 oz.) of pretzels in a 9 x 13 glass pan (this was the closest I had, but a 9 x 13 would have worked better):

Then, pour the oil mixture over the pretzels and stir to make sure they are covered.

Now is the fun part. Microwave the pretzels about 3-4 mins. Stir the pretzels around every minute. Make sure all the oil is absorbed.

Once you are done, lay the pretzels out on wax paper or tin foil to dry:

Last step, eat & enjoy!
