Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was when we had our family Christmas. It was the six of us with my grandparents. We started out by lighting a candle by the road at 5:00 PM in memory of the victims of the Newtown School shooting.

Then we had appetizers for dinner. Mom made baked potato soup and it was delicious!

After that, it was gifts! We tried something new this year. We swapped names between the six of us. It worked out really well, and I am assuming we will continue to do it every year.

Even Lily had fun at her first Christmas!

This is Aaron's last year doing band, and we enjoyed his Christmas concert a few weeks ago.

How cute is he with his suit and bow tie??  :)

Kenzie's 4th Birthday

So I'm a little behind, but a few weeks ago we got together at Brad & Dee's for Kenzie's 4th birthday party. I have a very creative cousin who does an amazing job with her kid's birthday cakes!!

Let's just say someone was slightly excited for her candyland cake!

Gram's Memorial Service

A few Saturday's ago, we had my great-grandmother's memorial service. We always got together every year for her birthday, and part of the tradition was that she would let loose a bunch of balloons. She would just sit there and laugh as they floated away. So it only seemed right that we should do it at her service! When the service was over, we all went outside for balloons.

Up they go!

Finished Scarf

So now that school is done for the semester, I have to catch up on some blogging! I have a few posts coming within the next few days that I'm going to try to do before Christmas!

First up is my finished scarf, which I finished around mid-November. I've certainly enjoyed wearing it! Here's a few pics, they are not the best quality cause I quick snapped them one night before going out.

I am pleased with how it came out, it was a lot easier than I thought knitting really was! I have another project currently on my needles, but I'll wait to share about that one.

Christmas in Heaven - Scotty McCreery

One of my favorite Christmas songs. It makes me think of Gram Virkler who loved the hymn Silent Night.
